Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has called upon the National government through the Ministry of Roads and Infrastructure to move with speed in constructing the climbing lanes along Nandi Hills-Chemelil road in Nandihills constituency, in order to reduce rampant road accidents in the region.

Addressing mourners at Kapkures village in Terik ward Aldai sub-county during the funeral of three people from a family who perished in the road accident along Nandihills- Chemelil road, Sang said the National Government should act swiftly concerning the road in order to safeguard the lives of people.

“The road has claimed many lives of our people and something should be done to curb the accidents.” He insisted.
The governor revealed that the road needs to be expanded and erect climbing lanes in a bid to help reduce the accidents which have become so rampant that it takes lives nearly every day.

He appealed to PSV drivers to exercise caution while on the road through thorough observance of traffic rules and regulations so as to help put on halt such cases.

His call comes a few days after a terrible road accident at Nandihiils-Chemelil road which took the lives of three people from the same family.
