Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has appealed to residents from Chesuwe and Kipsebwo in Emgwen constituency in Nandi County to preach peace and live together peacefully.
While addressing a peace meeting at Chesuwe shopping centre in Emgwen constituency, which brought together residents from Chesuwe and Kipsebwo, following tension in the region due to the brutal murder of two mentally ill boys, Governor Sang urged the residents to uphold peace and calm as they wait for police investigations to be completed.
The two boys were murdered last week after it was alleged they were thieves and were liaising with gangs to rob business people in the area.
The Governor cited that peace is the key to development and prosperity in any nation.
He challenged the law enforcers in Nandi to speed up their investigations and ensure those responsible for the murder are brought to book so as to be charged in court.
On the other hand, Nandi County Commissioner Lucy Mulili said they already have six names of suspects linked to the murder and very soon, the culprits will be arrested and charged.
