As the enhanced continuous voter registration(ECVR) phase two kicks off on Monday 17th January 2022, Nandi residents have been urged to turn out in large numbers and register as voters in readiness for August polls.
Speaking during the commencement of the exercise across Nandi, Nandi IEBC elections manager Mrs. Catherine Bulinda said the exercise will run up to the month of February thus asked residents who have not registered as voters to use the opportunity.
Bulinda noted that during the first phase of the registration exercise Nandi did not meet the target of hundred thousand voters therefore is hopeful that this time round majority will turn out to fill the gap.
“I want to ask all the Nandi residents to consider coming out to register as voters in this voter registration exercise of phase two so that no one is left out.” She said.
The elections coordinator revealed that registering as a voter is a democratic right of any citizen of Kenya in order to accord him or her the democratic right of voting during the elections to elect their preferred leaders thus appealed to Nandi people especially the youths to embrace the exercise by registering.
Nandi leaders across the county led by the MPs have come out to woe the public to register as voters in order to vote for their leaders in August polls.
