Preparations for the swearing-in ceremony of Nandi governor-elect Stephen Sang are underway and final touches will be accomplished before the penultimate day. According to the Assumption of Governor’s office committee led by the county secretary Dr. Francis Sang, the preparations are underway and everything will be done by Saturday. The swearing in ceremony will be held at Kapsabet Showground on 24th August.
The Governor-elect rejected the earlier proposed ceremony budget of Ksh 14 million, and it was reduced to close to Ksh 2 million, while the rest of the cash will be channeled to the health sector to cater for the purchasing of drugs.
Sang said that the initial figure was too high to consider, citing that as a county, there are other priorities to be dealt with. The Committee in charge of the whole process urged Nandi residents to come out and witness the inauguration ceremony.
