Nandi governor Stephen Sang has affirmed Nandi residents that the Covid-19 vaccine is safe for human life thus urging them not to panic.
Speaking at Kapsabet County Referral Hospital after receiving the jab, Sang said that he decided to lead as an example by getting the vaccination to affirm to Nandi residents with doubts that the vaccine has no harm.
He revealed that over 250 people from Nandi have been vaccinated so far including the front line workers and none of them has experienced any complications.
“Over 250 people in Nandi have received the jab and no complications have been reported so far thus I urge residents to avoid fear and take the vaccine.” He revealed.
Concerning the third wave of Covid-19 that the country is experiencing at the moment, Sang affirmed that stringent measures have been put in place to curb the spread and appealed to residents to strictly stick to the Covid-19 protocols to be on the safer side.
The governor confirmed that the eighty three Covid-19 cases that was reported on Sunday in Nandi were from the Kapsabet GK Prisons and not from the local community saying they are doing their best to contain the situation.
“We are working with the management of the Kapsabet Gk Prison to ensure we curb and contain the spread of the disease. “He added.
On the other hand the health CEC for Nandi Hon Ruth Koech said Covid-19 is real and is still there urging residents to take extra precautions for their safety.
She asked them to ensure they stick to the presidential directives to fight and contain the disease which has been a threat to the whole world.
