Nandi Governor Stephen Sang has ordered the closure of all mortuaries across Nandi County, a measure aimed at taming the Coronavirus spread. Governor Sang revealed that the move is aimed at reducing the risk of spread and urged Nandi residents to comply with the directive.
Residents are required to bury their loved ones within 24 hours and if a funeral must go on, then there should be at most 50 people in the hour long funeral. “All the morgues across Nandi, whether private or public, will remain closed for a period of 30 days effective from 19th March 2020 until further notice,” said the Governor.
The Nandi Governor, in conjunction with the Health Ministry officials and the emergency response team also led a cleaning exercise at Kapsabet market, a move aimed at sensitizing business people to maintain high standards of hygiene.
