Nandi Health CEC Ruth Koech has revealed the Covid-19 test results for Nandi MCAs and County Assembly staff have turned out negative. This comes after a mass testing exercise was conducted on the Assembly staff and members, following an initial positive test from one of the MCAs three weeks ago. She said the right decision to conduct the mass testing was heightened by anxiety, “The results are out and are all negative and we thank God for that,” Koech affirmed.
The County Assembly of Nandi was set to resume sessions last month but that didn’t happen after Tinderet MCA Kipkurui Chepkwony tested positive for Covid-19, prompting the closure of the Assembly. The MCA is doing well in isolation and is receiving treatment. Prior to the testing, County Assembly speaker Joshua Kiptoo said the test results will determine if the Assembly resumes its sittings.
