Nandi County striking nurses have agreed on a return to work formula after fruitful talks with the County Governor Stephen Sang. Addressing the nurses at an indoor meeting held at Kapsabet Municipal Hall, Governor Sang urged them to return to work on Wednesday 20th September and promised to fully sort out their grievances ranging from delayed promotions and salary arrears.
The Governor, who was accompanied by his Deputy Dr. Yulita Chebotip, who is also the acting Health CEC, he assured nurses that they’ll receive their promotion letters by Friday and that they’ll be paid their salaries together with their allowances covered in the months they’ve on strike.
He insisted that no single health worker will be intimidated, “I want to assure you that after resuming work, no one will be victimized or intimidated,” he said. The health sector in the County is expected to receive a massive boost after the fruitful talks.
