The Nandi County government under the Health docket has received a second consignment of medical drugs worth Kshs 34 million from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA). Speaking at Kapsabet Referral Hospital, Nandi Health CEC Ruth Koech said the County government is committed and is focused on its course. She said that last week, the County government received the first consignment worth Kshs 22 million to ensure there is a steady supply of drugs in all health facilities across the County. “We are committed as a government to open more health facilities in the County right now,” she said, “We’ll be opening twenty more facilities to ensure health services are closer to residents.”
The Nandi Health CEC also noted that the administration has employed more health workers since last year, including pharmaceutical technologists, chief officers, medical officers and nurses who are currently stationed in all the health facilities across Nandi. She revealed lots of health projects in the County are up and running since the sector is among Governor Stephen Sang’s priorities. She further urged residents to register for the NHIF Medical Cover to enhance their access to health services without difficulties.
