Nandi residents took to Kapsabet streets on Thursday evening to celebrate the Supreme Court Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) ruling.
Businesses came to a standstill in Kapsabet town as residents welcomed the Supreme Court ruling saying it was a good move to nullify it as it wasn’t good for the ordinary mwananchi at all as it was a burden to them.
They added that it is a reprieve for them and have lauded the Supreme Court judges for the move saying it is now clear that nobody is above the law thus are very happy that the BBI process was upheld.
“We are very happy for the Supreme Court ruling on BBI and we laud the judges for standing firm professionally and not allowing to be influenced,” They stated
The Supreme Court ruled that the second schedule of the Bill was unconstitutional and that the President cannot initiate a popular initiative at all among other issues.
