Tindiret member of parliament Hon Julius Melly has asked Nandi residents especially the youths who did not manage to join universities to make use of technical colleges by enrolling for technical courses.
Melly said that his constituency has made a lot of strides in the education sector as it has two technical colleges .
He said that technical education offers great knowledge and skills which in turn will help them transform their lives thus urged youths to enroll for such courses for the betterment of their future. The legislator revealed that the two technical colleges in his constituency can accommodate over three thousand students thus is a good opportunity for residents.
He added that his main focus is to fully support the education sector through infrastructural improvement and giving out of bursaries to needy and vulnerable students. This will enable them pursue their careers adding that his budget for educational developments in the region through funding is over 60 %.
“As a member of parliament for Tindiret constituency, I have given the first priority to educational matters including disbursement of bursaries to needy students and working on infrastructure to ensure conducive learning environment for them.”
The legislator lauded the government for remembering teachers working in hardship areas by according them hardship allowances, saying that his region will no longer experience any shortage of teachers again as the main problem has been solved amicably.
He wished well the candidates as they prepare for their national exams that will commence officially on 19th and 26th of March urging them to work hard so as to excel .
Melly was addressing parents, teachers, students and the entire community of Kapsigilai girls secondary school in Chemase location Nandi county during the official handing over of a school bus to the institution.
