Nandi Senator Samson Cherargey was forced to queue for voting by the electorates at Cheptarit primary school polling center in Mosoriot Nandi County.
This transpired after the Senator came in wanting to cast his vote first despite the long queues witnessed in the polling center whereby the electorates demanded him to queue saying he is not special at all to come and go ahead of the voters who reported into the polling center as early as 5 am and thus was reminded to have respect.
“How can somebody arrive too late to the polling center and want to go straight to vote yet there are electorates in the queue since morning, is he special than us?” They asked
The Senator had no option but to bow to the electorates demands by queuing.
Elsewhere, in Kipture primary school polling center in Emgwen constituency, goons belonging to one of the gubernatorial aspirant were reported to have stormed the center and destroyed ballot papers by setting them on fire.
United Democratic Alliance party (UDA) Nandi County Returning Officer Veronicah Chebet said the incident has been condoned and investigations into the matter have been launched cited that any aspirant who will be found guilty of the offense will face the music and may even be expelled from the party.
