Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has said if Parliament is dissolved, then the whole government should be disbanded and constituted afresh. Speaking in Nandi, Cherargei said some are ready to back for fresh elections, “For now the advisory has been suspended by justice Weldon Korir, but if the President says Parliament is dissolved and we go back to the polls, the whole government should be broken,” he said, “Everyone, from the President to the MCA should be elected afresh.”
He said it’s unfortunate that Chief Justice David Maraga didn’t consider the Covid-19 pandemic while issuing the advisory to dissolve Parliament. On matters of the County, he has urged Nandi Governor to make good use of County funds, “I fought for the County during the revenue stalemate and now we will get an additional Kshs 1.6 billion. We don’t want to see graft issues.”
He faulted the Governor for the sacking of contracted County labourers, “I’ve heard that the Governor has sacked County people, 384 casual labourers. They hadn’t been paid for the last 10 months since November…how inhumane can that be? It’s immoral,” he stated.
