Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has slammed Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju after he barred Deputy President William Ruto and his allies from accessing the Jubilee party headquarters to use it as a political meeting ground. Cherargei, speaking in Nandi, said DP Ruto allies will continue using the offices and from Monday, they’ll be regularly working from there.
The move by the Jubilee NMS recommending to the NEC that the Deputy President be removed as party leader and barring him from the offices has caused a stir. Cherargei said President Uhuru Kenyatta will be remembered for bringing division in the party, “You will not be remembered for the many projects, you will be remembered for allowing surrogates, some pretenders and some busy bodies to disrespect the Deputy President.” He said unity can’t be achieved in Kenya without involving the Deputy President.
He called out Tuju, saying when he took over as the party secretary general, all he had to do was run the party errands. He stated that those barring DP Ruto from accessing the Jubilee offices want to destroy the party.
Elsewhere, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen also faulted SG Tuju. “We want to tell Tuju we are members of Jubilee by choice. We were elected to become members of Jubilee, we campaigned and looked for votes so that you become relevant to hold that offices,” said Murkomen, who was speaking in Kabarak during the burial of Paul Tergat’s mother. He also called on President Kenyatta to take action by firing David Murathe and Tuju and unite Jubilee, “If you want to preach the gospel of uniting Kenyans, start by uniting Jubilee.”
