NASA officials elected in West Pokot ahead of the general elections

New officials of National Super Alliance (NASA) have been elected in West Pokot County to coordinate the campaign for the coming August general elections.

The team which brought together aspirants and members from ODM, Wiper party, Federal Party, Chama cha Mashinani (CCM) and Ford Kenya conducted elections yesterday inKapenguria.

NASA is gaining ground in West Pokot County as a section of voters continue to shift to the coalition.

The NASA officials who’ve been elected are Major Retired Moses Lopurena, who is the NASA County Coordinator, Mr Eric Kolimong’ole as the Secretary and Emily Lengetiang as the Treasurer.

They said the coalition had no Coordinator in the County citing lack of proper coordination, misappropriation of funds and scandals by the Coordinator who had imposed himself on the seat.

“We’ve had shortcomings as a team, but now that officials have been elected we will be stronger,” said Kolimongole.

They said NASA has good policies and an agenda of channelling 45 percent of funds to Counties, Provision of free Primary and secondary education and improving the economy.

The new officials cited that West Pokot is an eighty percent NASA zone and they will marshal big numbers to deliver victory for the coalition.

Newly elected West Pokot NASA Coordinator Mr. Moses Lopurena said they will fully support Raila Odinga adding that they’ve laid down strategies to increase its grassroots membership in the County.

Speaking in Kapenguria after the elections Mr. Lopurena cited high cost of living, poor economy, insecurity as the ghosts haunting West Pokot  County after being marginalized for more than fifty years by former regimes.

Mnagei Ward representative seat aspirant on a Chama cha Mashinani ticket Mr. Dickson Ruto Ng’urasia said they wanted officials who will represent them well, organize aspirants and unite the candidates.

Kapchok ward aspirant Mr. Autok Lomeringura said the party has re-energized as it strives to outwit other parties that have been more popular in the region in the past.

He said the new officials will be involved in selling party policies in all the four constituencies in the County with a view of getting more members enlisted.

ANC West Pokot County Woman Representative seat aspirant Mrs. Brigit Clement Chepkasan cited that they will elect new officials who will also help to look for more votes in remote areas.
