DAP-K party has held its meeting today in Kitale and endorsed Trans Nzoia County Governor George Natembeya as its Deputy party leader, Natembeya will work together with former Kanduyi MP Wafula Wamunyinyi.
The party under its leader Eugene Wamalwa and its Secretary General Dr. Eseli Simiyu ratified Natembeya’s post after members contributions that proposed and seconded the post
The meeting also saw former independent MP for Kiminini Constituency David Kisaka being received in the party.
Kisaka’s action comes in the wake of the current MP for Kiminini Kakai Bisau association with Ford Kenya who most feels that he is preparing to contest for Gubernatorial post in the County on Ford Kenya ticket.
Most of the leaders in the meeting led by former Kwanza MP candidate Emmanuel Waswa called upon elected leaders; Kiminini MP Kakai Bisau as well as Cherangany MP Patrick Simiyu to work with the party.
While accepting the endorsement, Governor Natembeya promised to revamp the party by organizing for grass root elections of new members in readiness for the coming elections and that the party will scoop more seats in the 2027 general elections.
Natembeya called upon leaders to embrace each other and work towards realization of more seats in the County.
Party leader Eugene Wamalwa called upon all leaders’ in the party to work together and avoid unnecessary disputes that could divide them.
Wamalwa however promised to lead the party in Government in 2027 elections claiming he has started a grand match to State House
Many experts have described the action as l rivalry between former Defense Cabinet Cs Eugene Wamalwa and Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula who also has assembled his arsenals in a bid to control Trans Nzoia County
Ford Kenya suffered a major setback in the County as out of 25 wards it only won three ward seats; Machewa, Waitaluk and Kiminini while with one MP, Kwanzas Ferdinand Wanyonyi, DAP-K won Kwanza, Sinyereri, Saboti, Sikhendu, Hospital, Nabiswa,and Sirende wards with Kiminini parliamentary seat-MP Kakai Bisau, Cherangany Patrick Simiyu and Gubernatorial seat- George Natembeya
