National Council of Churches of Kenya ( NCCK) North Rift chapter has appealed to the two arms of Government; Executive and Judiciary to in future avoid unnecessary attacks against each other but consult on matters that they feel are not right.
Recently, the Executive led by President made several attacks on Judiciary over what it called massive corruption in Judiciary involving several officials who the President claimed were working with some leaders in opposition to curtail the Government projects it has initiated
The council led by its chair. North Rift region Aggrey Olumola has appealed to the two arms to respect each other in matters to do with its functions noting that the bad blood witnessed between the Executive and Judiciary was not right for the country.
The leaders however applauded meeting the Judiciary officials, Executive and legislative arm of the Government calling upon the initiators of the meeting in future to involve the church.
His sentiments were echoed by his secretary Meshack Kosgei who called upon each arm of the Government to respect each other without interference blaming the President over what he termed as interference with the Judiciary that was independent.
“We are calling upon the President to desist from attacking the Judiciary in public but look for ways of solving their differences in civility and decorum,” said Kosgey.
