Ndivisi Girls Secondary School, in Webuye East Constituency, has made significant strides in the national examination results, sending 97 students to university out of 244 who sat the exams. The school registered a positive deviation of 1.1687, achieving a mean score of 6.1967 compared to last year’s 5.028. This marks a notable improvement in the school’s academic performance, despite the ongoing challenges they face.
During an interview with journalists, Senior Principal Ruth Nabiswa highlighted that while the school’s success is commendable, they continue to grapple with significant challenges, particularly the shortage of teachers. The shortage of qualified educators has put immense pressure on both students and staff, affecting the quality of education provided.
“We are proud of our students’ achievements, but we cannot ignore the difficulties we face in delivering quality education. The shortage of teachers is a major issue that requires urgent attention,” said Nabiswa. “We call on the government to employ more teachers to help meet the growing demand of students and ensure that no child is left behind.”
Nabiswa also raised concerns about the increasing influence of politics in education, which she believes often interferes with students’ ability to reach their full potential. She emphasized that when political agendas take precedence over the needs of students, the quality of education suffers, and students’ academic goals are hindered.
Despite these challenges, Ndivisi Girls Secondary School remains committed to providing the best education for its students. The school continues to work tirelessly to support its students, striving to create an environment where they can succeed academically and beyond.
The school’s impressive performance this year is a testament to the dedication and hard work of both the students and the teachers. However, with adequate resources and a more supportive educational environment, Ndivisi Girls Secondary School believes they can achieve even greater success in the years to come.
