Ndivisi MCA Martin Wanyonyi Pepela has faulted a contractor who was awarded a tender to build kiosks at Ndivisi market for failing to finish his job, saying he’ll be chased if he doesn’t finish the project. Addressing the press at the market after handing over car washing equipment to Ndivisi stage boda boda leaders, he said the contractor has taken too long to finish the task, “I’m not going to let it go. Traders are suffering yet they pay taxes every day and I’m cautioning him that if he doesn’t finish his work on time I won’t have anymore discussions with him and I’ll bring in a new contractor.”
He said the contractor has been given a week to complete the project as the stipulated time for the project has already expired. He added that he’ll intervene to ensure the trader sat the market get access to water, noting that they are going through hard times.
In matters of politics, he alluded that there are busy bodies in the political arena who have vowed to tarnish the names of some politicians they don’t share the same ideas and alignments with. The bodaboda leadership lauded the MCA’s gesture but requested him to repair the roads, especially the feeder roads which are in a bad condition and are impassable. They cited the Misikhu-Brigadier and Namwatikho-Ndivisi road and also urged the Roads Ministry in the County under the leadership of CEC Collins Mukhongo to chip in and help since they are also taxpayers. However they lamented that the ongoing differences between Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati and Bungoma MCAs are halting development progress and called for a truce.
