Ndivisi ward MCA Martin Pepela Wanyonyi has condemned the incident where former PA to Bungoma Governor Stan Wepundi was chased out of the government house.
Speaking to West Media, Pepela stated that Wepundi contributed a lot to see that Wangamati ascends to power therefore he doesn’t deserve how Wangamati government is handling him.
“I take this opportunity to condemn the act we saw recently of chasing out our son Stan Wepundi from government house, his belongings were thrown outside the house in broad daylight, in Tachoni or Bukusu culture it is an abomination to throw someone’s belongings out of the house during the day. We all know that Stan played a big role in forming Governor Wangamati’s government but the way he is being handled, as a leader from Webuye East I am condemning this,” stated Pepela.
The Ndivisi legislator used that opportunity to urge Bungoma Deputy Governor Professor Charles Ngome to intervene and salvage Webuye East residents who he claimed voted for Wangamati‘s government because of his deputy.
“I would like to ask the Deputy Governor of Bungoma County, Webuye East residents supported Governor Wangamati knowing that you are there to defend them but where we have reached our people are being mishandled under your watch and you are doing nothing,” he claimed.
However, he said that the Bungoma County government has for long discriminated against Webuye East residents in employment opportunities.
“Our children are being discriminated when it comes to employment opportunities, we had a sub-county revenue officer in Webuye East who was demoted and taken to Kimilili and for now as I speak sub-county revenue officer in Webuye East comes from Kanduyi, out of 9 sub-county revenue officers Webuye East is not represented that is why as a leader I can’t sit and watch when this government is harassing and humiliating our people,” concluded Pepela
