Kabuchai Constituency parliamentary candidate on DAP-K Eric Wanyonyi has come out to dispute a recent declaration by a section of members claiming to be from the DAP-K that they have resolved to support the Jubilee candidate Evans Kakai.
Wanyonyi says he is still firmly in the race and called upon his supporters to ignore the message released by the residents terming it as political propaganda saying he has not agreed to step down for anyone in the race claiming he is a front runner.
“I have not negotiated with anyone regarding my candidature and the Jubilee candidate should focus on selling his agenda to the people of Kabuchai instead of wanting to ride on propaganda, I am still in the race and we are going to clinch the seat,” he said
His sentiments were echoed by Bungoma County DAP-K chairman Chrisantus Makokha who said the residents who claimed to support the Jubilee candidate are not registered members of the DAP-K and therefore cannot purport to issue directions on behalf of the party.
He said they have candidates in all the Constituencies of Bungoma County except Mt. Elgon and they are fully in support of their venture saying political propagandists should not be tolerated.
