It took twelve hours before a terrorist that ambushed Kapenguria police station and killed several police officers and injured others was killed by police officers.
The terrorist entered the police station at 3.00 am in the morning killing several officers before taking charge of the police satiation.
The General Service police officers and administration police officrse were unable to gain access into the police station early in the morning.
They were manning the police station from outside baring residents who were curious and wanted to enter the police station to see what was happenning from gaining access into the station.
After nine hours, reinforcement from Nairobi arrived at the station to offer support and rescue other suspects who were in the police cells.
It took only one hour before the armed terrorist was gunned down by the Recce Squad.
Speaking to the press after the suspect was killed, Rift Valley regional coordinator Wasimbo Wanyama said the victims were not seriously injured and were receiving treatment.

Wanyama said that he could not disclose the number of police officers injured because their next of kin had not been informed.
“We cannot rely any information concerning the dead and injured police officers since we have not informed their next of kin,” he said.
The regional coordinator assured residents whose family members were in cells that they were safe and saying none was injured.
“The suspects in the cells are safe and nobody was harmed. Its only police officers who have been killed and injured,” he said.
“We have rescued and restored the police station,” he said.
He said they have launched investigations to ascertain the accomplices of the suspected al Shaabab terroristand where he came from.
Wanyama stressed that the suspect was a terrorist since he entered the station while armed and killed several police officers.
“How do you call a person who enters police station while armed and goes ahead to kill officers,’ he said.
Unconfirmed reports indicated that the al-Shabaab suspect who was arrested yesterday evening in connection with recruitment of youths in the county at Nakwijit village in North Pokot Sub County is still in police custody.
It’s alleged his accomplice who had come to rescue him from the police cells is the one who was shot dead by the police officers.
The accomplice is a police officer attached to Kapenguria station who wanted the suspected to be released before being arraigned in court.
It’s alleged that his colleagues refused to allow him release the suspect and this triggered him to start shooting at them.
Reliable sources revealed that the police behind the killings was by the name PC Abdi Hakim Maslah, force number 101777 of Somali origin.
The source further said that the deceased was communicating frequently with the suspect who is in police custody before he was arrested.
The suspect has since been transferred to unknown police station.
Unconfirmed reports also indicated that six police officers including two senior police officers together with other four officers were shot dead in the incident.
