Nzoia Sugar Football club that was relegated from the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) league to the national super league after the end of last season has received a boost after former Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo through his foundation donated them kits and money.
Speaking after visiting the team at Nzoia, Owalo said he is focused on helping nurture talents among the many youths and applauded the club for having been significant in championing the same course.
He said Nzoia Sugar football club has groomed many talented players that have catapulted to international standards and promised to work with the management to make sure the club returns to the FKF league.
Nzoia Sugar acting managing director Kenyatta Ogeke thanked the former CS for his generous gesture saying the club has been solely dependent on the company for sponsorship which has not been optimum to their needs.
He therefore called upon other willing sponsors to come up and help the club restore it’s lost glory saying it is a giant that has huge potential to emerge as the best club in Kenya.
The event was also attended by legendary players of Nzoia sugar football club, AFC leopards and Gor Mahia like Leonard Khayota, who advised the young players to remain focused.
