Former Gor Mahia striker Michael Olunga has started training with his new team Djurgarden in Sweden optimistic of concluding his switch to the Swedish side.
Welcoming him to Sweden, club’s sports director Bosse Anderson said, they have a good knowledge of him and his qualities as a player.
He added that they have followed his development in the Kenyan national team and think he can have a great future in Djurgarden.
Though there are other offers on the table for him, he has declared that he is interested to play in Europe and then move on from here to the major leagues.
Olunga was voted as the best player in the Kenyan Premier League last season where he helped his team Gor Mahia retain their domestic league title .
He scored 19 goals for his side coming in as second best scorer behind golden boot winner Jesse Were who finished with 22 goals.
As a fourth year student of the geospatial education at The Technical University of Kenya, Olunga also has his eyes on continuing with his education while playing for his new club.
Olunga is expected to train with the club in the coming two weeks as he hopes for a conclusive switch from Gor Mahia to Sweden.
