Likuyani Constituency has continued to experience a disappointing turnout of residents in the ongoing mass voter registration exercise.
According to the constituency Returning Officer Mr. Enoch Otaro a total of 2,373 new voters have been registered across the five wards since the exercise began.
Regretting the low turnout, Otaro said the registered number only accounts for 16% of 14,538 targeted by the end of the exercise next week.
“With less than a week remaining the number is far below our set target of 14,538 new voters,” said Mr. Otaro.
The official has, however, continued to urge eligible voters in the area who have not registered to use the remaining days to do so that they will be able to participate in the next year’s General Elections.
