Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi has faulted Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula and ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, saying they are deceiving each other in their political foray. Echoing what COTU boss Francis Atwoli said during the Kakamega BBI meeting, he said the two leaders aren’t genuine in their dealings with each other, alluding to them having their own interests. He said the notion that meetings bringing Luhya leaders together without the involvement of Mudavadi and Wetangula is a misleading concept and that leaders allied to the two shouldn’t skip from one camp to another, but should take a firm stand, “When they met at Wetangula’s place before their press address, they had already come from DP Ruto’s place. Even before meeting Mudavadi on another occasion, some leaders had first met at the DP’s place.”
Speaking to West FM during an interview on Sunday, Osotsi said if they are committed to meeting, they should come together instead of setting up side meetings. He said Mudavadi and Wetangula had been invited at the Kajiado meeting, but didn’t show up, adding that Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya were chosen given their prominent leadership positions.
He said the leaders who’ve supported the efforts by CS Wamalwa and Governor Oparanya have come out openly to state their intentions unlike the leaders who are allied to DP Ruto. He criticized leaders who are angling towards the Deputy President’s side despite the fact that he is coming under increasing attack, “You see a house is being destroyed, and you are running there, how can you do that?” he posed.
On a mooted merger between Ford Kenya and ANC, Osotsi said talks happened some time back, but they broke down due to deception for some leaders. He called out former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale, saying he used to negotiate the merger during he day and meet DP Ruto during the night, saying that later, Wetangula and Mudavadi saw that they had been deceived in their their dealings with Khalwale. He said the party leaders hold to different paths, citing the Kibra by elections, where both ANC and Ford Kenya fielded candidates.
