Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi has demanded that the ANC party sets plans underway to hold grassroots and national party elections since the term of the party officials and the party leader Musalia Mudavadi ends on Monday 6th June. He said he took part in the formation of the party and its registration 5 years ago, quoting the party’s constitution in the process, he noted that from 6th June seats should be vacant, “The constitution says if there is a vacancy in any position the party is supposed to call for grassroots and national elections.”
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, Osotsi said the ANC party hasn’t even started the process of conducting elections. He also faulted leaders who have blamed ODM leader Raila Odinga for party woes notably Ford Kenya, saying some parties have been made short and thin for selfish reasons, “When members of those parties demand for internal democracy and decide to take action you can’t blame it on Raila,” he said.
He dismissed Lugari MP Ayub Savula’s sentiments on the supposed ANC coup, and said leaders would who are blaming Raila for struggles in their parties want to join Deputy William Ruto and are looking for excuses. “These brothers of ours have already made up their minds they want to join William Ruto….If you are man enough join Ruto without using Raila’s name.” He said on Friday Savula met DP Ruto’s allies in an Eldoret hotel.
