Former Funyula Member of Parliament Dr. Paul Otuoma has won the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party’s Busia governor nominations.
Otuoma garnered 49,330 votes beating his close rival Florence Mutua, the only competitor who got 30,696 votes.
Catherine Makhabi got 29,273 votes and announced as the contestant of ODM party on the seat of Busia Woman Representative in the coming general elections.
Dr. Otuoma will be facing off with Nambale MP Sakwa Bunyasi who will be contesting on ANC ticket, Deputy Governor Dr. Moses Mulomi on DAP, former Agricultural Finance Corporation managing director Lucas Meso on Jubilee ticket and former Education chief officer Dan Mogoria.
Last week Dr. Otuoma unveiled former Teso North MP Arthur Odera as his running mate and he is the only aspirant for governor that has named his deputy.
