Over 30 people have been arrested by the police at Namgoi area in Nandi after they were found flouting the Ministry of Health’s Covid-19 infection prevention directives. The suspects were arrested while drinking and partying at a residence in Namgoi next to Kapsabet Girls High School. The officer in charge of Kapsabet police station Mr Stephen Wambua has confirmed the incident saying the suspects are in police custody and will be arraigned in court on Monday.
Wambua said the suspects will be charged with flouting the Ministry of Health’s guidelines and will serve as an example to others. He has asked the residents to dully adhere to the guidelines for their safety saying that Covid-19 is real and dangerous and the public should not take it lightly.
