Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has accepted the resignation of Barack Muluka as the party’s secretary general. Muluka took stock of the progress made by the party and his contributions, among them contributing to the reshaping of the party, which also culminated in the adoption of a new party constitution.
In the resignation addressed to the party leader, he doubted if he could add more value to what he has done so far, and that it’s fitting that the space around Mudavadi should be decongested, “This will allow you to make critical decisions on the population and leadership of the party under the new constitution.” He said it will also ease the making of personal political choices ahead of the 2022 elections.
On his part, Mudavadi accepted his resignation, thanking him for the committed service he gave the party for nearly three years. “His was not an easy responsibility as he served the party through various defining and intractable moments. But he carried himself with decency, dignity and also from a deeply ingrained sense of principle,” said the party leader.
