Parents have been urged to support education programs in schools by paying school fees on time, to allow the schools to run their curriculums well. This is according to Bunang’eni Secondary School principal Simon Simwelo Mutembete in Webuye West constituency who said the government has taken a bigger responsibility and parents only cater for the smaller charges.
However, Mr Mutembete said he is enjoying support from the administration among them Sirende location chief Misiko Walubengo and his assistants, whom he says have built up trust with the school among parents to take their children there, despite the fact that the school is still budding. He said, as a result, the school’s performance has been good. He said the school still faces many challenges including lack of a spacious land and classrooms and appealed to Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama to intervene.
Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama acknowledged the problems the school is facing and instructed his team at the constituency office to find a way of assisting the school but also asked the school management to write and forward the proposals to the CDF office. He said he’ll make sure that e works with the new principals and teachers to uplift education standards in the schools in Webuye West constituency.
