As schools reopened after close to 10 months of being shut down, Bungoma County commissioner Samuel Kimiti has called upon parents to take their children to school saying they can’t afford to let them stay at home any longer.
Addressing the press after touring Bungoma DEB primary school, County commissioner Samuel Kimiti said they have put in place enough measures to ensure learning activities go on as expected. He said all learning will go on under strict observance of the Ministry of Health’s directives.
He also asserted that the students who were impregnated need to be given an opportunity to continue with their studies as the government pursues the perpetrators.
His sentiments were echoed by Bungoma County Director of Education Philip Chirchir who said the government has worked round the clock to ensure learning activities resume well.
