Parents urged to take children to polytechnics
Residents from Bungoma north in Bungoma County have been urged to be on the forefront by taking their children who did not qualify for universities to polytechnics as a way of enabling them to acquire the required skills that will enable them grab the available jobs in the market
This is according to the member of the county assembly in Soysambu ward Gerishom Namesake who said polytechnics are key and rubbished those who think they are meant for failures or class eight drop outs.
Speaking to West media Namesake who is also the vice chairman for education secretarial committee says if the polytechnics will be lawfully put under county government they will be able to boost their education and skills to the students who will join them
He also said for them to get grants, donations and other aid the county government needs to set aside enough money to budget for the institutions so that the youth polytechnics can be able to stand on their own, employ qualified people and attract a big number of students to benefit.
Namasake said education is key and after acquiring the required skills and gaining knowledge youths will be able to get employed, quit bad vices and concentrate on important income generating projects.

He however urged the residents to fully participate in maize farming and livestock keeping sustaining themselves citing that farming has become the backbone of most Kenyans and boosting the Kenyan economy
In maize farming and livestock keeping one can never lack as there is always ready market and demand and the weather conditions are also favorable.
