Education is key to the success in everyone’s life. Speaking in Sitabicha Engineer Robert Malaba Keya encouraged parents in Sirisia sub – County to take their children to school to give them an education that will enable the children to live well in future.
Educating children comes with many advantages, according to him, the level of poverty will reduce, there will be no dependency, insecurity will also be eliminated as all youths will be occupied with revenue generating activities and the malady of drug abuse will be eliminated.
Engineer Robert said that time has come for all parents to take their children to school in order to give them an opportunity to get employed urging this will help give them their daily bread bearing in mind that gone are the days of relying on pieces of land.
“I encourage all parents to take children to school instead of wasting time leaving them to go to loiter in urban areas in search of employment at tender ages, this will not sustain them in future.” He said.
He said parents should take children to school instead because the knowledge they will get is an asset that no one can take from them and will give them a bright future, much better than title deeds.
Keya also noted that the number of people who have registered as voters is low therefore urged youths who have attained 18 years to apply for the National Identity cards and register as voters in the ongoing voter registration process.
“I urge all youths that have attained 18 years to apply for Identity Cards and register as voters, not with an intention of voting for a specific person but to utilize the right of choosing a leader of your choice.” He said.
He also advised youths to form groups and start projects that will be beneficial to them instead of relying on politicians to get their daily upkeep.
