The prices of Super Petrol and Diesel have increased in the latest Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) review. The price of Super Petrol has increased by Kshs 3.07 per litre, while Diesel has increased by Kshs 0.39 per litre. The price of Kerosene has reduced by Kshs 0.34 per litre. The new prices are effective from 15th June to 14 July. As it stands the new prices in Nairobi are; Super Petrol-Kshs 115.10, Diesel-Kshs 104.76, Kerosene-Kshs 104.28.
EPRA said the changes are as a consequence of average landed cost of imported Super Petrol increasing by 4.54% from US$514.72 per cubic metre in April 2019 to US$538.08 per cubic metre in May 2019, Diesel increasing by 0.52% from US$533.07 per cubic metre to US$535.84, while Kerosene decreased by 0.43% from US$535.17 per cubic metre to US$532.89 per cubic metre.
The fuel prices in some major towns in and around the former Western province are as follows: In Kakamega, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 116.63, Diesel at Kshs 106.51, Kerosene at Kshs 106.04. In Bungoma, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 117.29, Diesel at Kshs 107.27 and Kerosene at Kshs 106.70. In Webuye, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 116.76, Petrol at Kshs 106.64 and Kerosene Kshs 106.16. In Malaba, Super Petrol will cost Kshs 117.71, Diesel will cost Kshs 107.59, Kerosene will cost Kshs 107.12. In Busia, Super Petrol will retail at Kshs 117.77, Diesel will retail at Kshs 107.65 and Kerosene will retail at Kshs 107.18. In Kitale, Super Petrol will cost Kshs 116.88, Diesel Kshs 106.77 and Kerosene Kshs 106.29. In Eldoret Super Petrol will cost Kshs 116.57, Diesel will cost Kshs 106.46 and Kerosene will cost Kshs 105.98. In Kapenguria, Super Petrol will cost Kshs 117.25, Diesel will cost Kshs 107.14 and Kerosene will cost Kshs 106.66.
