Petrol and Diesel prices have been reduced in the latest Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) review, while the price of Kerosene has increased. Super petrol and diesel prices have decreased by Kshs 9.54 per litre and Kshs 19.19 per litre respectively. The price of Kerosene on the other hand has increased by Kshs 2.49 per litre. The new prices will be effective from 15th May to 14th June 2020.
In Nairobi, Super petrol will retail at Kshs 83.33 per litre, Diesel at Kshs 78.37 per litre and Kerosene at Kshs 79.77 per litre. According to EPRA, the changes in this month’s prices are as a consequence of the average landed cost of imported Super petrol decreasing by 38.94% from US$ 309.03 per cubic metre in March this year to US$ 188.07 per cubic metre in April. Diesel decreasing by 44.04% from US$432.70 per cubic metre to US$242.13 per cubic metre.
Prices in some major Western region towns are as follows: In Kakamega Super petrol will retail at Kshs 84.24 per litre, diesel will retail at Kshs 79.42 per litre and Kerosene at Kshs 80.83 per litre. In Bungoma Super petrol will retail at Kshs 84.96, diesel at Kshs 80.13 and Kerosene at Kshs 81.54. In Malaba, Super petrol will retail at Kshs 85.36 per litre, diesel at Kshs 80.53 per litre and Kerosene at Kshs 81.94. In Kitale, Super petrol will retail at Kshs 84.56 per litre, Diesel at Kshs 79.73 per litre, and Kerosene at Kshs 81.14 per litre. In Eldoret, Super petrol will retail at Kshs 84.20 per litre, Diesel at Kshs 79.38 per litre and Kerosene at 80.78 per litre. In Kapenguria, Super petrol will retail at Kshs 85.20 per litre, Diesel will retail at Kshs 80.37 per litre and Kerosene at Kshs 81.78 per litre. In Mumias, Super petrol will retail at Kshs 84.52 per litre, Diesel will retail at Kshs 79.69 per litre, while Kerosene will retail at Kshs 81.10 per litre. In Webuye, Super petrol will retail at Kshs 84.63 per litre, Diesel will retail at Kshs 79.80 per litre while Kerosene will retail at Kshs 81.20.
