Phanice Mang’oli Slain by Al- Shabaab laid to rest
A somber mood engulfed Maliki village in Tongaren constituency during the burial ceremony of the late Mercy Mang’oli who was working with a non-governmental organization in Somalia who died alongside others in line of duty as they were travelling in a car which was attacked and sprayed with bullets by suspected al-shabaab militants.
The late 29 year old Phanice had acquired a job with a Turkey based NGO in Somalia and had worked there since September last year but her life was cut short during the Easter weekend when the car they were travelling in from one station to another was attacked and shot at.

Speaking during the burial ceremony area Mca Andrew Lichuma expressed his condolences to the family saying it was unfortunate that the late had to lose her life at such a tender age when she was actively enjoying her youthful life.
He also took the opportunity to assert the Bungoma Mca’s stand of demanding the ward empowerment fund money of twenty eight million shillings from Bungoma governor Kenneth Lusaka saying they are only want the money released to cater for the development projects prioritized by residents in each ward.
“We have so far received 7 million shillings and we had to go for a go slow and paralyze operations at the governor’s office in order for our demands to be heard as our five year term is almost elapsing and residents have been anxiously waiting for their proposed projects to be funded” he said
He further called upon residents from western Kenya to support the presidential bid of Bungoma Senator Moses Masika Wetangula of wanting to be president of the republic of Kenya saying being a party leader of Ford Kenya party he has been able to showcase his leadership skills under the Cord coalition very well.
Lichuma further condemned the tear gas incident at Muliro gardens in Kakamega where he was launching his presidential bid and called for speedy investigations into the matter to arrest the people who orchestrated the incident saying it was unfortunate that old men including Burudi Nabwera who were attending the launch were affected.
