A somber mood enveloped Sikhendu village in Kimilili constituency of Bungoma County after a police vehicle knocked a woman who died on the spot.
The late 59 years old Margaret Nabudwa who sells groceries near Kimilili police station was knocked by the police vehicle when she was leaving for home on Wednesday evening before curfew time.
A bodaboda rider, 20 year old Gilbert Wanjala sustained broken limbs during the incident and was taken to Bungoma County Referral hospital.
James Thuku Ndicho, the deceased husband told Journalists that he was very much saddened by the death of his lovely wife whom he loved very much saying she was the pillar of the family and her demise has left a huge gap.
His sentiments were echoed by Pastor Shadrack Ngugi, a neighbor who said that the death was as a result of carelessness from the driver who seemed drunk.
Kimilili Sub County Police Commander Mwita Marwa said that police are investigating the incident.
