As the clock is ticking counting hours to general election, the newly Democratic Action Party Kenya is gaining mileage in Western region after fishing new members to strengthen it’s ability to clinch various political seats.
The newly formed party is set to compete Senator Moses Wetang’ula’s Ford Kenya party, Deputy President’s United Democratic Alliance Party UDA and Musalia Mudavadi’s Amani National Congress ANC.
In Sirisia Constituency, the battle is between the incumbent John Koyi Waluke who is in UDA Party, Engineer Malaba Keya who joined DAP-K, Kasembeli Nasiuma who has not declared his party, Moses Nandalwe who will be vying for the seat using ODM ticket among other aspirants.
Speaking in Sirisia after joining DAP-K officially, Sirisia Constituency aspirant Eng.Malaba Keya who was accompanied by his clan members said he is prepared to take the seat, urging Sirisia Constituents to support his vision.
He urged his political competitors to preach peace and stop inflammatory statements that may stir violence.
“I want to urge my fellow politicians to shun away from divisive and violent politics that may not help our people, let’s tell them what we will do” he said.
His sentiments were echoed by Bungoma County CEC member Public Administration Mr. Sabwami Keya who said politics is not a battle of war and no one should see his competitor as an enemy.
“Everyone has a democratic right to vie for any political seat in this country, so anybody willing to contest should join the race and let electorates decide,” said Keya.
