As the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission IEBC looks forward to conducting August 9th polls, politicians across the nation have been advised to comply with the code of conduct prescribed by the Commission during this campaign season.
Speaking to West FM, Bungoma North Senior Deputy County Commissioner Philip Koima emphasized the need for politicians adhering to the laws governing elections, and the code of conduct prescribed by IEBC. His piece of advice comes after a number of politicians across the country and Bungoma North proving to have forgotten laws that govern elections as far as peace is concerned and the essence of embracing the very peace during the campaign season and stop using the youths to disrupt peace and political rallies of their competitors ahead of the August polls.
However, Koima assured locals in Bungoma North that security committee has continued to put in place measures to enhance security for the citizens and their property ahead of the General Elections.
He called upon citizens, politicians and security personnel to unite in ensuring that the nation has peaceful elections.
