President Uhuru Kenyatta has extended the nationwide curfew till 12th March 2021. In an executive order dated 3rd January, the President said the curfew will continue to be enforced between 10:00 pm to 4:00 am daily.
It’s outlined that all protocols governing religious gatherings remain unchanged, with indoor religious gathering other than a wedding or funeral will be conducted in accordance with inter faith council guidelines.
All political gatherings, roadside meetings and any functions considered to be Covid-19 super spreaders remain suspended for 60 days, with the exception of funerals or weddings, with a maximum number of 150 people in an event. Overnight vigils and events also remain prohibited.
All isolation facilities in the country have bene directed to maintain a high state of preparedness through continuous capacity building of healthcare workers, provision of adequate PPEs for healthcare workers and continuous implementation of infection prevention measures.
County governments are also required to enhance investment in piped and portable oxygen capacity in all isolation and critical care treatment facilities for management of severe Covid-19 cases.
