President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged Kenyans to be careful when it comes to rhetoric hate speech that may lead to violence. While presiding over the GSU passing out parade in Embakasi, Nairobi, President Kenyatta told Kenyans to be keen with leaders who spread hatred, “I urge every Kenyan to be on guard against politicians who profit from spreading hatred and violence,” he said. The President said they must spurn their ideology and stand firm against their advances.
President Kenyatta noted the importance of the security forces when it comes to taking charge and ensuring political violence isn’t spread, adding that its every Kenyan’s responsibility to bear, “It’s a burden we all bear but it weighs heavily on our disciplined forces.” He said that this being an election year, it’s vital for the country to have a strong police force.
President Kenyatta said it’s important to cultivate both domestic and foreign trust and confidence if the economy of the country is to be stabilized and lead to the creation of jobs for the youth.
