President Uhuru Kenyatta has led the nation in national prayers at State House, Nairobi. Several leaders including Deputy President William Ruto, Cabinet Secretaries, House Speakers, Legislators, Governors attended and inter faith clergy presided over the function.
President Kenyatta said it’s a day to seek God’s favour for the land and Kenyans, and acknowledged that we’ve won a lot of battles but not the war, “We need to continue to ask our creator to stand with us even as we move forward from today,” he added.
He lauded healthcare workers and essential service providers for going above their code of conduct to provide devices during the Covid-19 pandemic. He also thanked leaders across the country for the unity of purpose they’ve shown.
He further asked for forgiveness from anyone he wronged, “We’ve been told that as we thank God, we ask Him for forgiveness, so I’ve asked anyone I’ve wronged to forgive me, and if there is any of you who has wronged me, I’ve also forgiven.”
