President Uhuru Kenyatta officially announced that the government has set aside funds for the tarmacking of roads spanning 200km in Nandi County.
While addressing the public at several rallies across Nandi during the official launch of the tarmacking of roads, the President was keen to highlight that all promises made to the public in the Jubilee manifesto will be fulfilled.
Kenyatta who was with Deputy President William Ruto along with other leaders, said road networks covering 200km will be fully tarmacked before June next year, and they include Kapkatembu-Lemok-Simat-Rivatex and Kaiboi-Chepterwai-Kapkatembu-Kipkaren river, Chepterit-Baraton-Kimondi, and Denja-Kimondi-Chemuswai.
Other roads to be worked on are Chepterit-Tulon-Moi University-Olessos and Meteitei-Songhor-Gubere.
He revealed that the cost of renovation per kilometre is Kshs 42 million. “The tarmacking of roads in Nandi will help to change people’s lives, as farmers and business people will be in a better position to do their businesses well,” said President Kenyatta.
The president urged the opposition to respect the government and stop politicizing issues that have no agenda and urged them to stop focusing on negative issues, but instead spread the better message of development to Kenyans.
He added that his government is focusing mainly on key development aspects to ensure every Kenyan gets their rights and to rid the country of poverty.
