President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged the party nominations losers to accept defeat instead of playing a blame game. He said this while addressing a delegation of Nomiya Faith Churches Council at Statehouse, Nairobi, “There are some who are against me, yet nominations took place and Kenyans are the ones who decided,” said President Kenyatta. He said there is nothing wrong he did, given that the decisions were made by Kenyans.
He said Kenyans voted and elected the leaders they wanted and that there should be no blame games, “Let’s accept the decisions Kenyans made,” he said, “We shouldn’t say this person made me lose, or that person made me lose.”
President Kenyatta said the decisions made by Kenyans indicate the level of entrenchment of democracy in the country, “The citizen has known and understands that the power belongs to him and not the leader,” he said, “So long as we allow the will of the people to prevail, Kenya will progress, Kenya will prosper and will become a success.”
In another incident, musician Charles Njagua was declared Jubilee party winner in last week’s Starehe parliamentary nominations. The ticket had earlier been given to Maina Kamanda, but the popular musician who is known by hi stage name as ‘Jaguar’ had filed a complaint with the party elections board.
