President William Ruto is today afternoon expected to give a state of the nation address at a special session of both parliaments, the senate and the national assembly.
Through the information on Wednesday to the member of Parliament and those of the senate, the speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula and Amason Kingi, speaker of the senate informed the law makers that a special session of the parliament will be held on Thursday at 8:30 to give a chance for the president to give the state of the national address.
This session is constitutional as per article 132 of the constitution of Kenya section one b which states that the President will address a special joint session to both parliaments, the senate and the national assembly.
The President’s speech on the state of the nation comes at a time when issues of health, safety, education are much discussed across the country as the President is urged by Kenyans to implement important promises and projects.
