Private schools in Bungoma County led by Marell Academy and Lotus highway school based in Bukembe posted excellent results in the KCPE national examination results this year.
Marell Academy principal David Kang’o said they registered thirty candidates and out of them 12 scored more than 400 marks with the best candidate scoring 416 out of a possible 500 marks.
He attributed the best results to cooperation among the stakeholders including teachers, pupils and parents saying they worked hard to achieve the best results they posted.
Regarding placement in high schools, he called upon the Ministry of Education to have a fair formula of placement. He added that previously many candidates who had scored high marks from private schools were not well considered.
Elsewhere at Lotus highways schools in Bukembe it was all jubilation as the school posted the best results ever with the best student scoring 417 according to the school principal Festus Wechuli.
He disclosed that 12 candidates scored 400 and above saying co-operation and trusting in God were among the key factors that led to their exemplary performance.
At Kibabii girls primary school the school principal Elizabeth Wabwoba led the school community in celebrations after also registering sterling performance in the examination.
She applauded the efforts of the stakeholders in achieving the results with the best candidate managing to score 414 and six gilrs scoring more than 400 marks in the examination.
