The Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Education Dr. Kipsang Belion was in Nandi to witness the opening of the KCPE Kiswahili/Lugha papers and Insha at Namgoi primary school. He was accompanied by other education officers from Nandi.
He said he was in Kajiado county in the morning for the same mission, where he witnessed the opening of exam papers in two schools before his arrival in Nandi in the afternoon.
Moreover, he is expected to witness the returning of scripts in the evening, and also the subsequent opening tomorrow morning.
The PS said they are all out to encourage students and ensure that examination integrity is achieved. “Our kids should get what they deserve through authentic results,” he insisted.
The PS confirmed that the exams which kicked off yesterday went on smoothly without any worries, while also shedding light on the impersonation case that was witnessed today Kerichocho county saying the impersonator and the candidate have been taken to court.
He clarified that those are not students but private adults who registered for the exams and he applauded the candidates for upholding high integrity during the examinations.
The exam tests handled today included Science, Kiswahili Lugha and Insha papers and tomorrow morning pupils will be winding up with the Social Studies.
