Politics took centre stage with rival groups taking sides at Chepchoina Primary School in a function, one supporting area Endebess MP Dr. Robert Pukose, while the other supported aspirant Alwin Sasia.
During the function, the deputy county commissioner suggested that only politicians who had been invited by Pukose would be given an opportunity to adress the people, remarks that didn’t go down well with Sasia supporters.
There was clear commotion between the two sets of supporters with security agents needed to calm the situation. Politician Sasia was forced to leave the function afterwards.
Dr. Pukose criticized the manner his rival behaved at the function, blaming him for the chaos. He said the politician is used to spreading propaganda concerning him, “This man has been spreading propaganda against me. I will fight back and will not allow him to malign my name again,” said an infuriated Dr. Pukose.
However, his opponent Sasia later blamed Dr. Pukose for the chaos, “The area MP Dr. Pukose is to blame for having ferried people, in six buses from as far as Uganda to come and cause this disturbance at the meeting,” said Sasia.
He said his politics is based on policies rather than personal attacks as is the case in the region calling upon residents to make a good decision when it comes to choosing leaders.
The politician took issue with the area deputy county commissioner Peter Maina and termed him as partisan in the way he handled the commotion at the meeting.
