The race for the Vihiga County Woman Representative has intensified as more aspirants get the nod to vie.
The latest aspirant to be cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is the UDA aspirant Jackline Mwenesi who presented her papers at Chavakali High School on Friday at 9am.
Addressing the media at Chavakali High School after being cleared, Mwenesi exuded confidence of clinching the seat while urging the residents to vote ‘six piece’ for the UDA candidates.
She at the same time dismissed remarks by a section of Cabinet Secretaries regarding the NIS report that puts Azimio presidential flag-bearer Raila Odinga at 60 percent lead against Kenya Kwanza’s William Ruto saying the report was ‘doctored’ in favour of the Azimio coalition to mislead the electorate.
On zoning, Mwenesi stated that all Kenya Kwanza aspirants had been cleared despite contesting from different party affiliations under Kenya Kwanza umbrella.
The race has attracted 10 aspirants including the incumbent Beatrice Adagala of ANC, Jackline Mwenesi UDA, Violet Bagada UDP, Ruth Bukachi independent, Winnie Majani of ODM.
Others are Afandi Lukalo MDG, Margret Mbuni of Kanu, Kevina Oriedo Jubilee, Lorna Obiri of Democratic Congress party and Mary Amalembe of DAP-K.
